TCAF this Weekend!

This weekend is the first comics show of the year that I desperately want to attend, but can’t: The Toronto Comics Art Festival. (The second show of the year that I desperately want to attend but can’t will be MoCCA, Ed will have to be my proxy.) For those of you who are going, it looks like an amazing show.

The website lists the following guests:

Atilla Adorjany, Sonja Ahlers, Rick Altergott, Ho Che Anderson, Kalman Andrasofszky, Neelam Arora, Adam Aylard, Matthew Blackett, J Bone, Ariel Bordeaux, Paige Braddock, Vera Brosgol, Chester Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Andy Brown, Sam Brown, Genevieve Castree, Scott Chantler, Svetlana Chmakova, Michael Cho, Becky Cloonan, Michael Comeau, Darwyn Cooke, Nick Craine, Willow Dawson, Arthur Dela Cruz, Salgood Sam Douglas, Eiland, Ray Fawkes, Alex Fellows, Tim Fish, Brendan Fletcher, Matthew Forsythe, Leanne Franson, Friends of Lulu, Amy Kim Ganter, Phoebe Gloeckner, Lydia Gregg, Steven Guarnaccia, Marcel Guldemonde, Richard Hahn, Sammy Harkham, David Heatley, Sam Hiti, Paul Hornschemeier, Kevin Huizenga, Chris Hutsul, James Jean, Karl Kerschl, Kazu Kibuishi, Kid Koala, Eric Kim, Derek Kirk Kim, Jeff Ladouceur, Hope Larson, Jeff Lemire, Corey Lewis, Jasen Lex, Jason Lutes, Jim Mahfood, Steve Manale, Johane Matte, Billy Mavreas, Sean McCarthy, Tyrone McCarthy, Brian McLachlan, Kagan McLeod, Carla Speed McNeil, Tara McPherson, Maureen McTigue, John Mejias, Tony Millionaire, Nadia Moss, Marc Ngui, Anders Nilsen, Michael Noonan, Liam O'Donnel, Bryan O'Malley, Gary Panter, Ramon Perez, Florentine Perro, Lorenz Peters, Chris Pitzer, Paul Pope, Nate Powel, Dave Roman, Jim Rugg, Andy Runton, Lianne Sentaur, Seth, Ben Shannon, Dash Shaw, Dave Sim, Jeff Smith, Fiona Smyth, Kean Soo, Zack Soto, Vincent Stall, Leslie Stein, Richard Stevens, Cameron Stewart, Diana Tamblyn, Gary Taxali, Raina Telgemeier, Peter Thompson, J Torres, Dean Trippe, Maurice Vellekoop, Brett Warnock, Brian Wood, Zach Worton, Ryan Yount, Chip Zdarsky

For a show only in its second year, they’ve assembled a great list of creators and sponsors. I know there will be a stack of new books and mini-comics available and cool people to chat with about comics. Just this morning at The Secret Friend Society, I noticed that Kean Soo will have the new Jellaby mini-comic for sale there.

Just typing up this little post has got me thinking about a change of plans and an 11 hour drive to Toronto. We just bought one of those fancy new Mustangs last weekend, what better way to break it in than a long road trip to Canada…
