One less worry...

Well, the GREs are over and done with.

Of course, I had to schedule the test for the same weekend as Pitt's homecoming, so finding parking and a quiet place to eat proved to be a difficult task. Finally, I settled in at the O, where I ate so many french fries that my note cards and study materials were completely soaked with grease. The O is the only place I know of where a "small" order of fries almost takes up an entire tray.

Not that this fat kid is complaining, mind you.

As for the test itself... I started with the writing part, which threw me for a loop - I had really anticipated that being the easiest section. I think I did relatively well on the argument analysis section, but the issue perspective section gave me a great deal of trouble. I was offered two topics, and hated both. After staring blankly at the screen for fifteen minutes, I hurried up and churned something out that was subpar. I hope my portfolio can make up for whatever horrible score I got on that section - I won't know how that was graded for a few weeks.

On the sections I did receive scores on... I lucked out. I didn't get the perfect 800 verbal score I wanted to walk out with, but I won't complain about the 720 I did get. And, going against all odds, I somehow scored a 640 on the math section, even though I maybe knew the answers to five or ten questions, guessing on the rest. Yay for lucky guesses.

So, no more GRE-related bitching on the blog, and back to comics-related snark and opinions.
