Places to go, things to read.

So much for this no-more-linkblogging thing, but there are two things I want to point out--

• This Saturday, I'll be driving to Brooklyn to do check out Rocketship, one of the hip new comic shops springing up across the country. It's also the day Rocketship is having the Bob Fingerman book release/signing party, which sounds like a lot of fun.

• Over at Rick Smith's website, readers can now sample the excellent Shuck comics Rick's been working on for a few years:

Dive into the free wheelin' world of Shuck at http://www.sulfurstar.com: We're posting every page of Shuck comics in color at the Sulfurstar.com website.

- Read the *entire* 'Shuck Unmasked' graphic novel or
- Read new pages of 'Shuck the Sulfurstar' (the new Shuck comic series), posted every day.

If you like what you've read, take a look at our catalog, where we've got all of the books for sale through a PayPal shopping cart.

Enjoyed by Jeff Smith ('Bone'), who wrote the introduction to 'Shuck Unmasked', Dave Sim, and many others, Shuck Comics garnered an Ignatz Award nomination in 2002 and praise from the comics community for its unique dialect-driven dialogue and folksy storytelling.

If you haven't checked out Shuck before, I highly recommend it--it's one of those comics that really sucks the reader into its world.
