...because work is hellish, and I am grumpy.
• Via this Newsarama piece, I see Jonathan Lethem will be doing some work for Marvel: Omega The Unknown. There's probably an easy "I have no idea who this character is" joke, what with the name and all, but for the first time in a long while I'm actually excited about a Marvel comic. If you haven't read Lethem's The Fortress of Solitude (now available in an inexpensive paperback), go out and get a copy... unless you are Kevin Melrose, and then just remind me to mail that copy I promised you a long time ago once I get my head on straight.
• By now, it's been linked all sorts of places, but you really do need to read this Kyle Baker interview that Spurgeon is kind enough to host at Comics Reporter. It's not timely, but it's definitely a good read, like any Baker interview.
• Hey, look--Rob Vollmar and Pablo Callejo's Bluesman now has a site, which reminds me that I should work on the sidebar a bit when I have some free time, adding a list of books and publishers or something.
• Thought about blogging, but don't want to commit to having a blog of your own? Have a blog of your own, but want to play somewhere new for a short stretch? I'll be going on vacation in a few weeks, and there will be no internet for me (which, surprisingly, I'm actually looking forward to--getting away from it all for a while sounds rather appealing). I'm not terribly concerned about not updating this place, which doesn't get updated very regularly anyway, but I thought I'd throw the offer out there. E-mail me if you're interested.
• Found via Graeme, creators talk about their pets at Sequential Tart. Hey, any time Pam Bliss is going to discuss her dogs, I'm going to read it... And there are cute dog pictures, too (if Christine Norrie's dog was any cuter, I'd have to steal it).
Aw... Now, go find some Pam Bliss comics.
