More links. I can't think of a good title for a link post.

• Courtesy of Lena's (who does Nostalgia Nook) personal blog (which isn't on the sidebar just because it is more general than culture oriented): events happening in New York City. Of note to indie geeks:

COMIC BOOK TO GRAPHIC NOVEL CLASS- LAUREN WEINSTEIN
"Modern cartooning combines drawing, graphic art and writing on themes ranging from social satires to memoirs and adventure stories. Make your own graphic novel and study the works of the greats from Robert Crumb to Craig Thomson. Learn how to develop, pencil, and ink your own stories, from short strips to longer works. Students with ambitious longer projects receive technical assistance and guidance. No previous experience required." There are 8 sessions.

I don't even want to make comics, and I'd like to take this, because Weinstein rocks.

More information on these programs is available from the MAKOR Center for you NYC types.

• Larry Young gets it (not a permalink, because I can't figure out how to do that through his site):

First thing, I'm relentless. I will not stop until every man, woman, and child on this earth and off it are reading our comics. That's just how it is. If this sounds like crazy-talk to you, please look into that lucrative Burger King franchise, because it will pain you less than trying to get into comics where your dreams will be smashed flat instantly if this is not your first thought.

I'm really starting to get tired of people who want to "make comics better" by... talking about making comics better. And I'm guilty of it, too. Maybe it's just that I'm cranky, and it's sweeps, but I've been meaning to do a long post that may or may not come tomorrow on some of those advertising on television columns and posts that spring up every month or so.

His whole thing is pretty good, actually. But if Kate Beckinsale called me, I'd drop what I was doing to ask her what it's like working with Whit Stillman, who I love.

• I want to play with ADD's meme, too, but I'm afraid I won't come up with one hundred. Maybe this will end up being an all blogging weekend. This meme, coupled with Kleid's column yesterday, has me thinking of something of my own, but I don't know if I'll get to it. Maybe there is something to this Ideaspace concept...
